December 2020

The doors in school were transformed for the month of December! Can you identify each classroom door, the maths room door, and the office door? 5th and 6th class couldn’t decorate their door as it is mostly glass, but they made a beautiful Advent calendar, and have been opening a door each day as we count down to Christmas!

Ms Walsh’s 3rd class painted beautiful winter tree silhouette pictures. This month they also made quadrilateral nutcrackers, and explored symmetry.

Mrs Colquhoun’s Senior Infants and 1st class made clever Christmas trees, and drew amazing snowmen.

Ms Knoph’s 2nd class have been busy making Christmas decorations so that their classroom looks and smells wonderful!

Mrs Stanley’s Junior Infants made this colourful display of mittens and penguins.

Ms Walsh’s class wrote Christmas prayers, and created story boards based on “The Snow Queen”.

November 2020

Ms Knoph’s 2nd class drew these gorgeous self-portraits – can you recognise anybody? They also created these fabulous fox pictures.

Hallowe’en is coming! Ms Walsh’s 3rd class have been busy carving these spooky pumpkins.

Ms Walsh’s 3rd class created these vibrant geometric pictures inspired by the work of Heather Galler.

Mrs Colquhoun’s Senior Infants and 1st class have created gorgeous Leaf Creatures.

Mrs Stanley’s Junior Infants made some snail art.

Ms Butler’s 4th class are learning about Ancient Greece. They worked in groups to construct catapults, and tested them to see how far they could throw. They are also making beautiful clay pots.

September 2020:

Ms Walsh’s 3rd class created abstract self-portraits using Sandra Silberzweig’s work as an inspiration. See if you can recognise anyone!

 Miss Butler’s 4th class made fabulous shadow portraits filled with their hobbies and interests.

Mrs Hemmingway’s 5th & 6th class were given 3 random lines on a page and had to use their imaginations to create these super pictures.

Ms Walsh’s 3rd class painted the Bloodbottler using the detailed description Roald Dahl gives in his book “The BFG”. Then they made their own dreams in jars and wrote the description for the dream on the label.
