On Sunday 8th March, children from 4th, 5th and 6th classes took part in the final Peace Proms concert of 2020. The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland and Peace Proms were celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and the concert was full of highlights to mark the occasion, such as a performance of Riverdance, and a rousing rendition of U2’s “Where the Streets Have no Name”. The concert, one of the last mass gatherings allowed before new regulations came into force to combat the spread of COVID-19, was a welcome distraction from all the worry and bad news. In between frequently washing their hands, the children sang their hearts out in a performance that lifted the spirits and left everyone feeling better.
