This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to purchase IT equipment – laptops and iPads – for the pupils to use. These have been an invaluable tool in school, and are used multiple times a day by the children for activities such as the consolidation of maths skills through games and puzzles; assessment and revision in Gaeilge using quizzes and digital flashcards; exploring the arts by creating stop motion animations and live action short films; researching topics for individual and group projects; and using specific apps to compose pieces of music. Some of the grant aid money also went towards a digital portfolio which made learning more accessible to all pupils and their families.
